A modest cape was transformed in this ground-up renovation. The building was revitalized with a completely open first floor plan, allowing ease of circulation and communication, while natural light warms and illuminates the spaces. The breezeway was converted to habitable space; mudroom, powder room, and pantry storage. The originally cramped second floor was given new life with a new master bedroom and bath, while retaining two bedrooms and the original bathroom. The building envelope was upgraded with a high R value enclosure and a high efficiency HVAC system was incorporated.
